2020 SUES Games Held

To cultivate the faculty and students' good habits of loving and advocating sports and promote the further development of the Sunshine sports program, on November 25th, the 2020 SUES Games, with the theme of Fighting the Pandemic; Embracing a Healthy Lifestyle was held at the stadium of Songjiang Campus.

Li Jiang, Party Secretary, Shi Jianyong, Deputy Party Secretary, Zhu Xiaoqing, Vice President, Yao Xiuping, Wang Yansong, and Xia Chunming attended the opening ceremony. Heads of schools, colleges, departments, offices, members of SUES sports committees, presidents of sports associations, and representatives of teachers and students participated in various related activities.

At 8:30 a.m., along with the exciting Athletes' March, the athletes entered and kicked off the opening ceremony of the Games. The imposing SUES national flag guards marched into the stadium, and 15 athlete squads, including the SUES flag squad, the sports association flag squad, the flower squad, the red flag squad, the student squad of each college, and the staff squad, marched into the stadium in turn.

The vigorous athletes' squad marched uniformly, showing the characteristics and spirit of each college, and fully demonstrating the positive, hard-working, and progressive spirit of SUES students.

Deputy Party Secretary Shi Jianyong expressed in his speech that he expected the Games to demonstrate the speed and spirit of SUES, fully embody the Olympic spirit of Faster, Higher and Stronger, and jointly create a sports event with the theme of Fighting the Pandemic; Embracing a Healthy Lifestyle .

Zhang Zhe, a teacher of the Physical Education Department and a national football referee, and Lu Zijie, a student at the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, swore on behalf of referees and athletes respectively.




Faculty and students from various departments participated in the opening performance: Dragon Dance Soaring China, Dressing in Beautiful Outfits and Showing Elegance from faculty associations, Dancing Youth from student associations, and Climbing from student art troupe. The wonderful performance showed the healthy and hard-working spirit of SUES faculty and students, which attracted warm applause from the audience. A total of faculty and student representatives from 20 colleges and departments participated in 46 contests of student groups, faculty groups, and mixed groups.
