The Second Sino-Swiss Online Conference of Joint Education Management Committee in 2021

On November 8, Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES)and University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons (UASG), Switzerland, held the second Sino-Swiss video conference of Joint Education Management Committee in 2021.Yu Tao, President of SUES, Wang Qin,Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Shen Qin, Dean of Vocational College, Li Yuanyuan, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs Office, Xiao Qian, Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office,  Jürg Kessler, President of University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons, Andreas Deuber, Head of International Cooperation Department, Patric Arn, Dean of College of Tourism and other members of the management committee attended the conference,which was chaired by Director Wang Qin.



President Yu Tao and President Jürg Kessler both extended their warm greetings to the members of the management committees and colleagues of both universities. President Yu pointed out that a new agreement had been signed and it is a great honor to witness that the cooperation between the two universities is about to enter its 10th anniversary. It is hoped that in the new round of cooperation, the two universities can actively carry forward the pioneering spirit of Sino-Swiss educational exchange, explore closer and deeper cooperation, so as to become a model of educational cooperation between China and Switzerland. At the same time, President Yu quoted an old saying mentioned by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 4th CIIE: Seeing the export to know the import, learning the past to know the future, and hoped that in the future cooperation, the two universities could enhance the level of cooperation, expand the depth and breadth of cooperation to build a special brand of quality education in China and Switzerland.


President Jürg Kessler of University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons also acknowledged the friendly cooperation of the two universities over the past decade. With an open and transparent approach to cooperation, President Kessler said that the Swiss Conference of University Presidents is currently working on guidelines for cooperation between Swiss and Chinese universities, and that FHGR will serve as a positive example of friendly cooperation with SUES by advising the working group and will follow up on this process with SUES later.



Shen Qin, Dean of Vocational College, and Andreas Deuber, Head of International Cooperation Department of UASG, Patric Arn, Dean of College of Tourism, Thuc Lan Tran, Head of Sino-Swiss Cooperation Program, and Bianka Lichtenberger, Head of Teaching Quality, introduced in detail about Sino-Swiss Cooperation Program in the second half of 2021 from the aspects of student situation, financial budget, curriculum adjustment, mutual visits of teachers and teaching quality management, having reached many understandings and consensus.


Both sides expressed their profound expectation for the new round of cooperation and hoped that the two universities would continue to open up cooperation, develop win-win situation and acquire achievements again.
