On January 25 (the 23rd day of the twelfth lunar month), in order to celebrate the lunar new year, SUES held the 2022 New Year’s Eve dinner for students staying on campus at the pilot restaurant. Secretary of the SUES Party Committee Li Jiang, President Yu Tao, Vice President Zhu Xiaoqing, Vice President Yao Xiuping, faculty representatives, and the students staying on campus shared a family banquet to celebrate the new year of the tiger.
Secretary Li Jiang, President Yu Tao and Vice President Yao Xiuping presented the Chinese New Year gift package and anti-pandemic materials to the students staying on campus. Vice President Zhu Xiaoqing delivered a congratulatory message for the New Year and extended sincere and beautiful New Year greetings to all teachers and students who stayed on campus.
Vice President Zhu Xiaoqing stated to all students who did not return home due to the Covid-19 pandemic that they could strictly abide by SUES anti-pandemic regulations and celebrate the Spring Festival safely and healthily as well as make good use of the precious time of the winter holiday and formulate daily learning plans to improve professional skills and lay a good foundation for the upcoming new semester.
In the warm atmosphere, SUES leaders, together with the teachers and students staying on campus shared a family banquet, accompanied by cultural and recreational activities such as classical dance and musical instrument performance, which aims to guide the students to “know beauty”, “understand beauty” and “appreciate beauty”. The wonderful performance received bursts of applause and cheers. The activity also highlighted traditional Chinese culture such as organizing students to write Spring Festival couplets, write blessing character of “Fu”, and carry out DIY traditional handicrafts for the year of the tiger, so that students can learn Chinese culture in Chinese traditional folk activities. The New Year’s Eve dinner was also integrated with labor education. Students actively participated in preparation, venue layout, dumpling making, serving dishes, closing and so on, which improved their labor ability in labor practice.
In order to enrich the spiritual life of students staying on campus, SUES and Culture and Tourism Bureau of Songjiang District played the New Year’s film “Hi, Mom” for the students after the dinner. The New Year’s Eve dinner ended successfully in a harmonious, warm and festive atmosphere. All the teachers and students took a group photo to record the beautiful moment of reunion and family banquet.
