In front of the display desk of works by college graduates featuring traditional Chinese culture such as “ink wash on all sides”, “rhythm of blue and white” and “dance movement” were a large crowd of visitors who were eager to experience the magical combination between modern media art and traditional culture. On the evening of May 9, display of graduation works of Sino- Korean School of multi-media design titled “various designs for A myriad of associations” was held on the second floor of Gymnasium on Xianxia Campus. The participants included SUES president Ding Xiaodong, Pei Xiaoqian, deputy secretary of SUES party committee, vice president Chen Weiming, and vice president Shi Jianyong as well as delegations led by Zheng Can, chief of international cooperation department of South Korean Dongseo University and Prof. Jing Bingzhuo from South Korean Gongju University. Also present at the exhibition were relevant people in charge and technical supervisors in the field of multi-media, SUES officials at the intermediate level, all teachers and students in Sino-S. Korean school of multi-media design and student parents. Those who made speeches at the exhibition included president Ding Xiaodong, Zheng Can, chief of international cooperation department of South Korean Dongseo University, Tang Youchun, chie of Sino-S. Korean school of multi-media design, Prof. Jin Zhongqi, chief of Sino-S. Korean school of multi-media design on the South Korean side, and Prof. Jing Bingzhuo from South Korean Gongju University. President Ding Xiaodong spoke highly of the achievements made in Sino- Korean school of multi-media design over the past decade and he sincerely hoped that graduates could maintain their passion and inspiration for design, develop a profound love for life, and fulfill their design dreams on a larger stage. He also acknowledged his gratitude to all the leaders, administrative staff, and the faculty for their contributions to this exhibition. After the opening ceremony, a wide range of works were on display covering virtual pottery making experience app integrating traditional blue and white ceramics, emerging sensing technology and unity engine development, 3-D display of traditional ink painting with the integration of interactive elements, plant cultivation game focusing on environmental protection, musical and visual “dance movement” controlled by body language, trading card game, and the dancing historical landscape, all of which were filled with creative ideas and both Chinese and Korean cultural elements and led all the audience into a multi-media world of “various designs for a chain of associations” created by 2014 graduates of Sino- Korean school of multi-media Design. The creative works by students at the exhibition were not only highly acclaimed by the visitors but also greatly delighted the visiting parents and enterprises. Fu Guoxing, CEO of Unity Great China Area, Andrew Kruse, CEO of Lan Teng Design,and Chen Yu, vice CEO of GreenBank Network all applauded the creations by 2014 graduates. With the window of graduation design display, companies were able to gain a better understanding of the specialized strength of students in Sino-S. Korean school of multi-media design, with many enterprises casting the olive branch of recruitment to their intended students on the spot. During the media interview, Tang Youchun, chief of the school, indicated that each work displayed here resembled a flower ready to bloom in the sunshine May, full of novelty and creativity. He hoped that students could make further progress after graduation by becoming the leading force in the pool of creative talents and the trailblazer and pacesetter in design in the age of new media. On that afternoon, Korean certificate awarding ceremony for 2014 graduates in Sino-S. Korean school of multi-media design and exhibition of 2014 graduation design works were held on Xianxia campus. Up to a hundred students in Sino-S. Korean school of multi-media design attended the certificate awarding ceremony at Room 725 of KeChuang Building on Xianxia Rd. SUES vice president Chen Weiming addressed the ceremony, and Zheng Can, chief of international cooperation department of South Korean Dongseo University and Prof. Jing Bingzhuo who was in charge of game department in South Korean Gongju University also extended their congratulations to graduates and awarded certificates to them. |
