Delegation Group from St. Cloud State University visiting SUES

On May 12, Professor Warren Yu, person in charge of Chinese affairs and Professor Ben Baliga, Chairperson of Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at St. Cloud State University came to visit our university with a delegation of 20 people. They were warmly welcomed by Cheng Weiming, Vice President at SUES in No.5 Auditorium, Information Center, and he extended greetings to professors and post-graduates of the delegation. The meeting was held by Qian Huimin, Head of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange at SUES, and staff member of International Cooperation and Exchange and Students Affairs Office were also present.

Vice President Qian started with a warm welcome and introduced the cooperative education model (an educational mechanism of combining learning with research and production), highlight of our university’s management plan to the delegation group. He gave a general idea of the cooperative education of production and teaching, three collaborative modes and international cooperation and exchange in SUES.

Vice President was glad to see the cooperation between the two universities going deeper and wider in areas regarding teacher and student communication. He expressed his hope that the two universities would actively engaged in international collaborations and help each other in the enhancement on production and academic cooperation.

The education mode combining learning and production is a people - orientedway to cultivate innovative personnel and it acts as a fine channel of implement education for all-round development. The educational mechanism of combining learning with research and production at our university has aroused our foreign guests’ curiosity. The two sides have constructive conversation over production and academic cooperation, engineering education and engineer development.

It is the sixth time that the delegation group from St. Cloud State University has come to Shanghai for educational tour since 2009. Post-graduate students, teachers and professors went to SUES’s partner companies including Lonking (Shanghai) Holdings Limited, Chint Electric, and Shanghai Volkswagen for a visit.
