ProfessorHung-Shen Laiis a foreign professor hired by our university in 2014academic year to participate in the teaching and research work. Hung-Shen Lai works at School of Medicine of Tufts University. His research mainly focuses on bioinformatics, protein and peptide chemistry and biological pharmacy. He is mainly engaged in research and development of diabetes medicines, cancer medicines and cardiovascular medicines. He has successfully put two innovative drugs of category I to phase II human trials. He has guided dozens of doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers. He has published 19 papers in some internationally renowned journals, such as Nature-Biotechnology, American Chemical Society, Journal of Medicinal Chemistry. He owns 24 patents of the world, the United States and China, which have been cited nearly 900 times. He is one of the early pioneers of bioinformatics.
