Course Diploma Awarding Ceremony of International Business (Tourism and Business Management) for Sino-Swiss Graduates of 2023 Was Held

The course diploma awarding ceremony of International Business (Tourism and Business Management) for Sino-Swiss graduates of 2023 was held in the afternoon of June 20 at the Modern Transportation Center. This program marks the tenth year of cooperation between the Higher Vocational Education College, SUES and Fachhochshule Graubünden (FHGR) in the field of tourism management, and has received great support from the leaders of both universities and the Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai.

 


Present at the ceremony were Istvan Kocsis, Deputy Consul General, and Heidi Zhang, Deputy Head of Culture, Media and Education Section of the Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai, and representatives from SUES including Xia Chunming, Vice President of SUES, Rao Pinhua, Director of Academic Affairs Office, Zheng Shubin, Dean of Higher Vocational Education College and Director of the Sino-Swiss Cooperation Program, Xiao Qian, Deputy Dean of Higher Vocational Education College, and Zhou Xiaozhou and Li Cong, two Deputy Directors from International Office of SUES. The ceremony was attended at the same time by representatives from FHGR via video meeting, including Prof. Andreas Deuber, Director of Internationalization, Prof. Patric Arn, Director of Studies at the Institute for Tourism and Leisure, and Dr. Thuc Lan Tran, Director of Joint Program Tourism. Besides, all Sino-Swiss graduates of 2023, representatives of parents, Chinese teachers and alumni attended the ceremony.

 


Vice President Xia Chunming delivered a speech to welcome all the guests, review the achievements of the program, thank the faculty of both sides for their hard work, and expressed his best wishes and encouragement to the graduates of the Sino-Swiss cooperation program of 2023. After that, Prof. Andreas Deuber delivered a speech on behalf of Jürg Kessler, President of the FHGR. Mr. Istvan Kocsis from the Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai also gave a wonderful speech and sent his blessings to the graduates. As representatives of Chinese and Swiss colleges respectively, Zheng Shubin and Patric Arn affirmed the cooperation program and sent their best wishes to the students.

 

The graduates were very excited when Vice President Xia Chunming and Consul Istvan Kocsis awarded the certificates to each one of them. Finally, they took a precious group photo. The successful conclusion of the ceremony not only marks the deepening cooperation between the two schools, but also symbolizes the friendly exchange between China and Switzerland.
