On the morning of July 16, the No. 0001 admission letter for SUES’s 2023 undergraduates was officially delivered. Xu Shenghuai from Shanghai No. 4 Middle School was admitted to the Flight Technology program of SUES, in pursuit of his long-lasting dream of becoming a pilot.
Xu Jianhua, Director of the Administration Committee of School of Air Transportation (School of Flying), Dai Yingli, former senior manager of the flight crew recruitment management branch of the China Eastern Airlines’ Human Resources Department, Shi Zhengwei, principal of Shanghai No. 4 Middle School, and other parties jointly sent SUES’s first admission letter for undergraduate recruited in 2023 to the student.
Xu Jianhua expressed his gratitude to Shanghai No. 4 Middle School for training and conveying excellent students to SUES, and congratulated Xu Shenghuai on his admission, hoping that during the following four years on campus, he would integrate his flight dream into the great cause of enhancing national civil aviation power.
As a celebratory gift, Dai Yingli gave Xu Shenghuai a China International Import Expo themed Boeing 777 aircraft model with “China Eastern Airlines” on it, and urged him to remember the professional spirit of civil aviation people to show “reverence for life, reverence for regulations, reverence for responsibilities” and to learn to fly aircrafts successfully soon.
Shi Zhengwei sent his best regards to Xu Shenghuai, and hoped that he would fly freely in the vast world of engineering and achieve great success in the future!
Xu Shenghuai said he felt much honored as the first student to receive SUES’s admission letter this year. He was grateful to his parents for years of hard work raising him, to SUES and CEA for their acceptance, and to his high school for the carful nurturing and training. After entering the university, he will strive to practice the school motto of “Diligence, Veritas, Innovation and Dedication”, to win honor for the University and to add color to China Eastern Airlines.
Shanghai University of Engineering Science is the only full-time undergraduate university in Shanghai to train flight technical talents for civil aviation industry. The Flight Technology program is among the pilot majors of the “Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program” launched by the Ministry of Education, and adopts a “2.5+1.5” enterprise-university oriented training mode to train senior engineering application-oriented talents who not only meet the domestic standards of civil aviation pilots but also qualifies for piloting international airlines.
