SUES Leaders Visited Students of the Summer Practice and Education Program of the Communist Youth League

On the afternoon of July 25, Zhu Xiaoqing, Vice President of SUES, and Liu Jian, Deputy Director of Shanghai Science and Technology Museum and Director of the Management Committee of Shanghai Planetarium, paid a visit to Shanghai Astronomy Museum to meet the representatives of students from SUES who carried out volunteer service, social practice and other projects in the summer. The person in charge of the relevant departments of Shanghai Astronomy Museum and the person in charge of the Youth League Committee (CYL) of SUES attended the meeting.

 


The symposium on summer practice and education programs of SUES was held at the Academic Exchange Room of Shanghai Astronomy Museum. Vice President Zhu Xiaoqing praised the hard-working spirit of the students. At the same time, she put forward expectations for the next stage of their work. First, she hoped that students would devote themselves to their great dreams and be brave enough to pursue their dreams. Secondly, she hopes that students will develop excellent skills and assume their great responsibilities. Thirdly, students should put their responsibility into action and strive to be the doers of integrity and innovation.

 

Shi Wei, Director of the Network Science Popularization Department of Shanghai Astronomy Museum Exhibition and Education Center, introduced the history of the Museum, the planning of the exhibition halls, and the design of exhibitions. Chen Yiran, Secretary of the CYL of SUES, reported the work of the summer practice and education program of SUES.

 


Shi Minyan from School of Urban Railway Transportation, Gu Jiaqi from School of Management Studies, Zhu Xinyuan from School of Air Transportation (School of Flying), and Li Dawei from School of Materials Science and Engineering delivered speeches on their experience and exchanged thoughts about this summer program in the light of their own majors.

 

After the symposium, SUES leaders visited our volunteers at the Museum.

 


The CYL committee of SUES set up a total of 175 research and practice teams with a total of more than 2,600 youths in the summer of 2023, who, following ten different tracks, have promoted social practice and deepened the fields of  their research.
