On July 24th, a delegation from Boeing, led by Dr. Linda Beltz, Senior Manager of Training and Analog Digital Customer Support and Service, visited SUES. The delegation also included Mr. Daniel Knight, Senior Engineer, Zhang Jing, Customer Director of Global Services Northeast Asia, and Liao Xudong, Training Director of Boeing Training Center in Shanghai. Shi Jianyong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC SUES Committee, warmly welcomed the esteemed guests. Key personnel from the President's Office, International Cooperation and Exchange Department, School of Air Transportation (School of Flying), and the chief members of the research and development team for SUES' Boeing 737-800 simulator were also present.
During the visit, Deputy Secretary Shi Jianyong extended a warm welcome to the Boeing representatives and expressed gratitude for their continuous support in the research and development of the Boeing 737-800 simulator. He highlighted SUES' unique characteristics, which are aligned with the developmental needs of modern industry. SUES' approach emphasizes a strategic alliance between industry, university, and research, with a focus on nurturing students' practical and innovative abilities.
Dean He Fajiang took the opportunity to discuss the successful implementation of university-enterprise collaborative education at School of Air Transportation. He emphasized the positive impact this approach had exerted on talent training and discipline development through the integration of production and education. Furthermore, Dean He shared information about the ongoing research and development of SUES' Boeing 737-800 simulator. The chief members of the simulator's research and development team also provided detailed insights into the development process, key research areas, and operational aspects of the simulator.
Dr. Linda Beltz and Mr. Daniel Knight were deeply impressed by the remarkable progress achieved in the research and development of the Boeing 737-800 simulator at SUES. They also lauded the excellence in training civil aviation flight talents, which has gained widespread recognition from both the industry and society. The meeting facilitated in-depth discussions on the enduring friendly and cooperative relationship between SUES and Boeing, with both parties exploring potential areas of further collaboration in the research and development of simulators.
Before the meeting, the Boeing representatives were given a tour of SUES' facilities, including the SUES Campus Architectural Model at the administration building and the laboratory at School of Air Transportation. Additionally, they conducted a comprehensive inspection of SUES' Boeing 737-800 simulator.
