Research Fields
Research has focused on unraveling corrosion mechanisms and designing corrosion resistant coatings/films. Expertise with the nanotechnology of the metal/environment interface, and routine use of electrochemistry, electron microscopy, and x-ray diffraction for failure analysis, and for understanding corrosion and passivity. Research field includes preparation and characterization of nano oxide films by sol-gel; magnetron sputtering TiN film; conducting polymer films by electrodeposition; corrosion and protection of austenitic stainless steel in sea water. Research has been recognized by three patents and twenty publications.
