This Major is set based on the Shanghai auto industry, in line with theindustry developmentplanning and the needs of local economic growth and in reliance onShanghai vehicle and parts manufacturing enterprises. The School has built two national engineering practice education centers with Shanghai Automotive Group Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Shipping Group Co., Ltd. By adhering to its teaching characteristics of theory & practice combination and equal importance of design and manufacture, the School adopts “3+1” university-enterprise jointtraining mode for this Major, namely, 3 years’ study on campus and one accumulative year’s engineering practice and graduation design in enterprises”. Students are expected to be trained into excellent automotive vehicle engineering and technical talents who have strong engineering practice ability, good engineering quality, teamwork ability, the spirit of innovation and sense of responsibility and can meet the development needs of the automotive industry.

Employment Orientation:graduates may work at the enterprises and institutions relating to manufacturing andR & D of automotives and auto parts and engagein development, design, testing, manufacturing, process design, quality management and other related work in China and in Shanghai.
