4-year undergraduate program; Bachelor of Arts
Features: this Major is one of the first batch of pilot majors approved by the Ministry of Education under the “Excellent Engineer Education & Training Program” and is supported by a national engineering practice education center.
This Major is targeted to the demand for developing modern urban rail transportation, focuses on cross-subject clustering of mechanical engineering with power electronics technology, automation control technology and other disciplines, emphasizes knowledge instruction related to fundamental knowledge of urban rail transit and vehicle engineering. The School adopts “3+1” university-enterprise cooperative training mode, namely, 3 years’ study on campus, and accumulative 1 year’s engineering practice and graduation design in enterprises. Students are expected to be trained into high-quality applied engineering and technical talents who: master the application knowledge used by urban rail transit enterprises in operating, managing and maintaining urban rail transit vehicles; can adapt to the needs of urban rail transit enterprises for vehicle maintenance and growth of urban rail transportation.
Main Courses: Engineering Graphics, Theoretical Mechanics, Materials Mechanics, Mechanical Principles, Mechanical Design, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Technology, Microcomputer Principle and Interface Technology, Detection and Sensing Technology, Control Theory, Electrical and Driving, Power Electronics Rail Transit Vehicle Structure and Principle, Urban Rail Transit Vehicle Electric Traction and Control, Urban Rail Transit Vehicle Braking Technology, Urban Rail Transit Vehicle Fault Diagnosis Technology, Urban Rail Transit Vehicle Electrical Equipment, Urban Rail Transit Vehicle Maintenance Technology, other compulsory or optional courses and practical teachings.
Employment Orientation: graduates’ knowledge structure covers vehicles and electromechanical systems, so they have strong adaptability and competitiveness in the industry. They may engage in urban rail transit vehicle operation and maintenance, fault diagnosis and maintenance work; in addition, they may even take on the work related to traditional railway vehicles, high-speed railway vehicles, etc.
