Zhou Xiaoming, associate professor, is the Dean of Shanghai Univerity of Engineering Science Sino-French Institute of Fashion Designer (IFA), Vice Dean of SUES Fashion College, Head of Art Design major (Fashion Performance & Planning), and Head of Visual Image Design & Fashion Show Planning Studio. She is member of Academic Committee of ChinaFashion Association (CFA), member of Sub-Committee of Fashion Performance Teaching under the Ministry of Education’s National Steering Committee on Higher Education of Fashion & Textile, member of the Expert Committee of Shanghai High-end Creative Young Talents Promotion Project, member of Shanghai Fashion Designers Association (SFDA), member of Shanghai Designers Association (SHDA), Vice President of Shanghai Model Association, Director of the jury for National Professional Model Contest by the Ministry of Education.
Research Achievements
Over the years, Prof. Zhou has published many academic papers and works including The Application of Chinese Qipao Elements on Modern Fashion Design, Study on the Stage Design for Fashion Shows, Analyisis of the Role of Music in Fashion Shows, Art and Design in Fashion Performance, etc. She has led or participated in innovation projects such as “the Engineering and Technology Research Center of Creative Product Design –Fashion Art Module”, “High Fashion Creative Design Platform”, “the Study on the Integration of Fashion Art and Expo Culture”, “Creatvie Fashion Design and Fashion Show Planning in 2012InternationalExhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries (CHINAPLAS)”, “Replication of the Dress Suit of the Diplomat Wellington Koo”, “The Joy of Expo – the Situation Show of Expo Licensed Products”, “the BMW CACP EVENTS Shaoxing Promotion”, “Planning of the Opening Ceremony and Parade of ‘Shanghai Week’in 2010 Shanghai Expo”, “Planning of ‘Everlasting Charm’-- the Closing Ceremony of 2010 Shanghai Expo”, etc. She is the compiler or co-compiler of seven books, and has received more than 70 authorized Design Patents. She has established close relationship with 35 relevant enterprises in the field of fashion design, accessory design, and communication of art and cuture. With rich practical experience, Prof. Zhou has profound theoretical knowledge and strong ability of scientific research.
