Since its establishment in 2006, the SUES Spark Astronomy Club has upheld its passion and pursuit of astronomy, actively engaging in outdoor observation and indoor science popularization activities. With the campus as its main base, the club organizes students to gaze at the vast starry sky on clear nights, using telescopes to observe major celestial bodies such as the Moon and Jupiter in depth, and conduct exploratory photography of deep space. During significant astronomical events, like the Geminid meteor shower, the club organizes outdoor observations to document historic moments with a scientific attitude. Furthermore, the club not only conducts science lectures internally but also actively disseminates astronomical knowledge to the entire SUES community, regularly holding popular science talks on themes such as Deep Space Nebulae and Jupiter. The SUES Spark Astronomy Club has established a solid long-term partnership with the Shanghai Astronomy Museum, regularly organizing members to volunteer at the top of Sheshan Mountain, fostering a deep understanding and love for astronomy through practical teaching.
