International Forum on Cutting-Edge Technologies of New-Generation Artificial Intelligence & Seminar on High-Quality Transformation and Development of School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering Successfully Held


On November 21, the 6th International Forum on Cutting-Edge Technologies of New-Generation Artificial Intelligence and the Seminar on High-Quality Transformation and Development of School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering were held on Songjiang Campus. Attendees included SUES Vice President Xu Kaiyu; Shu Qingshan, Deputy Secretary-General of China Computer Federation; Zuo Xia, Regional Head of Siemens East China; Sun Zuolei, CTO of Westwell Holdings Co., Ltd.; members of the CPC and administrative leadership of School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering; as well as over 300 experts, scholars, and students from various universities and enterprises. The event was presided over by Wang Chengtao, Secretary of the CPC School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering Committee, and Li Yuanyuan, Dean of the School.

 


SUES President Lou Yongqi, delivered the opening speech for the forum. He extended a welcome to all the guests and expressed gratitude to the experts, leaders, and friends from the industry who have long cared for, guided, and supported the development of SUES and School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering. President Lou pointed out that new-generation AI technology is flourishing with unprecedented breadth, depth, and speed, and has become a core engine driving industrial upgrading, social progress, and shaping future competitiveness. As a crucial pillar of the university's engineering system, the transformation and development of School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering is directly related to the advancement of the university’s overall strategy. He emphasized that the School should take this opportunity to actively plan, particularly in promoting the strategic transformation of engineering education, to achieve high-quality, connotative development of the School as a whole.

 



Xu Kaiyu, Zuo Xia, Li Yuanyuan, and Sun Zuolei unveiled the nameplates for the “SUES-Siemens Joint Demonstration Center for Advanced Automation Technology” and the “SUES-Westwell AI Joint Innovation Laboratory” respectively.

 

Experts including Professor Cheng Zixue, former Vice President of the University of Aizu, Japan; Professor Ferdous Sohel from Murdoch University, Australia; Professor Guo Yulan from Sun Yat-sen University; Director Soren Schwertfeger from ShanghaiTech University; as well as young scholars from School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, School of Management, and School of Art and Design, delivered presentations. They shared insights on topics such as HEC-type AI agent networks and their applications, practical implementation of scenario-based autonomous driving going global, the AI revolution and design revolution, and innovation in the era of scenario-based AI.

 


This forum not only built a bridge for communication and cooperation among experts, scholars, and industry elites in the field of artificial intelligence from around the world, but also consolidated a powerful synergy to drive the transformation and development of the School. Moving forward, the School will seize this opportunity to continuously deepen industry-university-research cooperation, to strengthen international exchange and mutual learning, and to focus on research in cutting-edge AI technologies and talent cultivation, striving to write a new chapter in the School’s high-quality development.
