The first plenary session of the organizing committee of the 46th World Skills Competition was held in Shanghai this morning (March 1). Li Qiang, Party Secretary of Shanghai and director of the organizing committee of the 46th World Skills Competition stressed that we should earnestly study and implement the important instructions of general secretary Xi jinping.In accordance with the decisions and arrangements of the CPC central committee and the state council, we need to work closely with each other, spare no effort and speed up the preparations, and contribute to the world a new and far-reaching world skills competition.

As the only university, Shanghai University of Engineering Science officially joined the organizing committee of the 46th World Skills Competition. The leaders of the university attended the first plenary meeting of the organizing committee of the 46th World Skills Competition today.

It is reported that SUES took the initiative to integrate it into national strategies and established the China (Shanghai) research center for world skills competition, which was the first international organization research center to settle down in SUES. Since its establishment, the research center has achieved some stage research results and actively carried out research for the event preparation. The center received the organizing officials of the world skills competition twice.Leaders from Shanghai Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau made field visits to the center and organized the preparation for the 46th World Skills Competition in 2018 and the symposium for the preparation of the world skills museum.

The center not only provides decision support services for the preparation of the 46th World Skills Competition, but also continuously improves the organization and management of the world skills competition. In addition, the establishment of the center is conducive to comprehensively improving the quality of China's skilled personnel training, vigorously promoting China's vocational education reform and development and other aspects to provide scientific decision-making basis and constructive advice.
