According to the list of major projects for initial research in Thirteenth Five-Year Plan recently released by National Development & Reform Commission, “Study of Development of Strategically Emerging Industries in Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” submitted by school of management has been approved, which is the first time for SUES to win a major research project from National Development & Reform Commission.
This selection, which won active response and vigorous support from nationwide universities and research institutes, received a total of 265 project applications. 27 winners emerged out of the stringent review by experts, of which SUES was the only local university.
In addition, in the bid for the specialized research subjects titled “Shanghai, looking ahead for another 30 years” of Shanghai Research and Development Center, 6 development strategy research projects from school of management and school of social sciences have won approval. This tender includes five major categories of strategic environment series, strategic resources series, strategic motivation series, development trend and prospect analysis series, and development idea series, covering 39 topics, all of which focus on scientifically analyzing and predicting Shanghai’s development trend and prospects in the 30 years to come, specifying Shanghai’s responsibility of upgrading China economy and fulfilling the dream of rejuvenating the Chinese people, and achieving the grand strategic goal of “two centuries”. Since the open bidding starting from April 1, a total of 281 valid applications had been received up to April 20. And 68 projects had won the bid after two rounds of interview and review by experts.
