Recently the awarding ceremony of the 4th “Advanced Mapping Technology Contest for Shanghai College Students” was held at Donghua University. Due to its superior performance, the competing SUES team consisting of school of mechanical engineering, school of material engineering, school of automobile engineering, school of arts and design, and school of vocational training has won a total of 2 first prizes for teamwork, 1 second prize for teamwork, and 7 first prizes for individuals, and 7 second prizes for individuals.
Sponsored by Shanghai Education Committee with assistance from Shanghai Science and Technology Association, this competition is undertaken by Shanghai Journal of Engineering Graphics and Donghua University with assistance from some other universities in Shanghai. A total of 86 teams from 20 universities participated in the event. Over the past competitions, outstanding SUES students have scored numerous achievements due to the devotion and diligence of its faculty members. Chen Yan, a training teacher from SUES school of vocational education made a keynote speech on behalf of all instructors at the awarding ceremony held by Shanghai Education Committee.
This contest has systematically trained students’ specialized design ability and mapping skill, integrated their innovation capability from design to mapping, boosted their confidence in their majors, and promoted an equal emphasis on both design innovation and operation practice. In addition, people from companies have also been invited to attend the event so as to facilitate both the selection of talents by enterprises and the recommendation of outstanding students to the market, thus truly and fully implementing the integration of industrial production, teaching and research.
