The 35th World Mind Olympics China Region Final, that is, the 27th Chian Odyssey of the Mind Work, finished at No. 2 Middle School of East China Normal University on February 23. Our school’s OM Idea League Community won the first prize of China Region, which was the best achievement ever in the past. As many as 481 teams from Shanghai, Beijing, Shandong, Guangdong and Singapore, Korea and so son, participated in this competition. Besides our school, Dong Hua University, East China Science University, Shanghai Science University, Shanghai Maritime University and ten other universities sent teams to participate in the competition. After the preliminary round, our school’s team is composed of seven students from different colleges and they are Wang Xiaochi, Hong Yiwen, Tang Yufan, Zhang Yuzhe, Cheng Liwei, Se Liyu, and Zai Danhua. These seven students cooperated harmoniously and completed calmly the competition items one by one. Finally, our school’s OM Idea League Community won the first prize of “Superposition”, the second prize of “Classic...Two Dynasties”, the second prize of “An Unusual Haunting Room”. As the structure type is set up for the first time by the Mind Olympics Committee in the group of China Universities, the committee specifically invited our school’s OM team as the first prize team to participate in the world final of this competition. Mind Olympics is an international activity to develop the youth’s creative ability, with the purpose of elevating the competitors’ comprehensive quality and encouraging the young teenagers to innovate boldly, set their minds and hands active, cooperate harmoniously and participate proactively. After our school’s Youth League Committee received the invitation for the competition in October 2013, they actively organized the OM community members to participate in it. Through the teachers’ and students’ constant efforts, and after overcoming the difficulties of training field and equipment, the team made a splendid appearance in the competition.
