Shentong Corporation: Innovation Talent Development Pattern
On February 11, Teng Jianyong, Secretary of the School Party Committee, Ding Xiaodong, President, Cheng Weiming and Shi Jianyong, Vice President, led leaders of relevant departments and colleges went to Shanghai Science Academy (abbreviated to SSA below) and Shanghai Shentong Metro Corporation (abbreviated to SSMC) for a visit and discussed development plan as to deepening cooperation between enterprise and school. In the morning, the school leaders arrived at SSA. Dean of SSA, Secretary of the Party Committee, Niu Xiaoming, Vice Dean Shi Qian, Cao Erming and leaders from Organization Human Resource Department, Research Planning Department, Technology Development attended the communication meeting. Mr.Niu Xiaoming mentioned that SSA always devotes to connecting and transiting enterprise demands with university research, has formed an innovative mechanism and development pattern of cooperating with enterprises and schools, made some achievements in Large Data Application Platform Construction, Laser 3D Printing Technology, material research development and biological medicine field, and hoped to have an innovative coordination of multi-position and multi-level with SUES in these fields. When introducing our education characteristics, technological innovation, talent development and student employment, our school leaders mentioned that as a university serving local economic development demand SUES is taking the road of featured development these years and has gained the recognition of both the society and government and these fostered the strong support of enterprises and research academies to our school. Since SSA signed cooperation framework agreement with our school in 2013, SSA has made proactive efforts in helping our school present education characteristics. The school leaders expressed the approval of SSA’s opinion of research academies and universities actively connecting with enterprise demands, transferring enterprise demands into technological demands and actively promoting strategic cooperation of production, study and research. The school will take advantage of platform construction such as high-intensity laser intelligent manufacture equipment crucialto technology development center of production, study and research and Auto Safety Evaluation Center, strengthen the bilateral cooperation and communication in such fields as management science, large data platform construction, laser 3D printing technology and production automatic manufacture, provide technological support, build innovation center together and form a coordination and innovation pattern which can be copied. Meanwhile the school hoped that the two sides could complement in competitiveness like postgraduate development and talent team construction, maintain connection, deepen cooperation and develop high-quality talents together.
In the afternoon, the school leaders were warmly welcomed by Shanghai Shentong Metro Corporation. Ying Minghong, Secretary of Party Committee and Director of Boards of the Corporation, Yu Guangyao, Vice Secretary and Vice President, Shao Weizhong, Vice President, Bi Xiangli, General Engineer and Ye Huaping, Director of Educational Training Center attended the communication meeting. The leaders of Shentong Corporation expressed their thanks for our contributions to developing Shanghai metro talents during these ten years, gave a strong approval of the achievements of the professional talents developed by our school in aspects of technological innovation serving the enterprise, and hoped that the two sides could further strengthen cooperation in professional skill talent development, knowledge service platform construction, position skill training and teacher training, fully coping with challenges brought by a new situation to city metro transport development. The school leaders pointed out that in 2013 our school’s Metro Transportation Operation Safety Testing and Evaluation Service Center succeeded in presiding over the trial work of basic conditions of pre-operation of Line 16, opening up a new field of cooperation for two sides. This year it is the tenth anniversary of the founding of City Metro Transportation College, which was jointly created with Shentong Corporation. Ten years’ cooperation has made the college into a role model for developing professional metro talents, which has made remarkable contributions to metro transportation talent development in Shanghai as well as Yangtze Delta Area. We need to summarize ten years’ cooperation experience, research on improving course design and talent development pattern, strengthen talent development orientation, making it more applicable to positions and more specific, bridge the gap between “learning” and “using”, further reinforce the construction of knowledge service platform and enrich the cooperation contents between enterprise and school.
