On the morning of January 20, Cao Zijian, Secretary of the Party Committee of Chengdu Normal Institute paid a visit to our university.Cao was acompanied by the main leaders of Plan Department, Teaching Affairs Department, Admission and Employment Department, Education Science College, Teacher Education College, Physics and Engineering Technology College, Biology and Chemistry College, Art College, Economy and Management College, Education Information and fundamental balance development coordination innovation. Teng Jianyong, Secretary of the Party Committee, Sun Peilei, Vice President received them. The delegation from Chengdu Normal Institute first visited Picture and Literary Information Center and practice training basis of Metro Transportation, Automobile and Aviation, and later together with the main leaders of the Party Committee office, President’s office, Development Plan Department, Information office, Teaching Affairs Department, Chemistry and Chemical College, Management College, Art College and Material Engineering College, they had a deep communication and discussion over cooperation of production, study, research, intelligent campus construction, excellent engineer education and other issues. At the communication meeting, Secretary Teng Jianyong introduced the history and current situation of SUES, education orientation and strategic layout, gave a detailed introduction to three coordination patterns of “joint education”, “joint talent development”, “joint innovation” between our school and the enterprises, explained our school’s characteristics of cooperation in production, study and research and the development policy of strengthening characteristics, stabilizing scale, deepening reform and elevating quality. Secretary Teng pointed out that if we want to guarantee the long and smooth development of joint education in system and mechanism we must find the enterprises’ demands and integrate what the enterprises need, what the government wants to do with what the university can do in order to realize double-win. The enterprises get practically involved in the management of colleges, which form into a system of college affairs committee, and it is a beneficial experience in cooperation between school and enterprise. Secretary Cao Zijian introduced that Chengdu Normal Institute was originally Sichuan Education Institute founded in 1955 and after almost 60 years of development and construction it has been built into an applied normal undergraduate school characterized by teacher education with solid foundation, complete subjects and outstanding features. Subject majors cover education, literature, science, engineering, economy, management, art, law and so on. Their institute also emphasizes teaching the students practical skills, making students suit market needs and this notion coincides with that of SUES to develop applied engineering technology talents, so the two schools have a lot to learn from and communicate on. The two sides also exchanged experience on information construction, subject and college dislocated competition, teaching and research and other issues of mutual concern.
