First Place again in Shanghai University Student Technology Entrepreneurship Foundation Work

Commendation Conference of 2013 of Shanghai University Student Technology Entrepreneurship Foundation was held on January 9 in the meeting room of Entrepreneurship Relay Building. 16 branch foundations of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Tongji University and leaders of three special foundations including Fengxian Bright attended the conference.

At the conference, Zhang Dewang, Secretary of Shanghai Foundation gave a summary speech and announced the praise decision. The branch foundation of SUES won the first prize of yearly comprehensive index ranking due to outstanding work performances. The branch foundation of Tongji University won the second prize. The branch foundation of Fudan University, Shanghai University and other five foundations won excellent prizes.

In 2013 SUES branch foundation actively organized declaration work of university entrepreneurship foundation project. During the whole year it has received 95 applications, including 81 creditors’rights and 12 stock rights. After strict screening, it funded 34 projects and the funding sum reached RMB7,390,000, continuing to be the first place in Shanghai University Student Technology Entrepreneurship Foundation Work.

University student technology entrepreneurship foundation effectively promoted the innovation and entrepreneurship work of university students. In 2013 there were 77 enterprises created by university students registered in Technology Park, increasing by 150%. At present, there are as many as 129 enterprises created by university students, hiring more than 500 people.

Shanghai University Student Technology Entrepreneurship Foundation is founded by Shanghai Municipal Government and is the first public welfare, entrepreneurship “Angel Foundation”, which spreads entrepreneurship culture, supports entrepreneurship practice, promotes university students to engage in technology entrepreneurship activity. It is also “Seed Foundation” to develop independent innovation entrepreneurship businesses, and provides young entrepreneurs with funding support and subsequent backup and service in the two ways of creditor’s right and stock’s right.

Led by the main leaders of the school, SUES branch foundation is the youngest foundation in Shanghai and was founded to operate only in the second half of 2011. But under the great support of the school and Changning District People’s Government, the branch foundation was brave in opening up, dedicated in working, standardized in operation and remarkable in results and in the second year after it was founded it won “the First Place of 2012 Angel Foundation Funding Work Comprehensive Index”.
