According to statistics, students of City Metro Transportation College in 2013 won almost 30 municipal and national prizes, more than ever before. The reason that the students can make such outstanding achievements derives from the high devotion of “New and Innovative Technology Center” of the college.
New Innovative Technology Center is the only student technology center of college level in our school, which is mainly made up of the students of the college, and is guided by relevant teachers and independently organized and managed by students. The center was founded in 2007 and until June this year has absorbed 118 members. Until June 2013, the center succeeded in applying for 3 “National University Student Technology Innovation Plan Project”, 25 “Shanghai University Student Innovation Activity Plan Project”, were granted more than 300,000 RMB of research funds, has applied for 4 invention patents, 4 new practical patents and 9 high-quality academic paper.
The center consistently sticks to the team policy of “study for use, brave in innovation”, team culture of “all for one and one for all” and management and operation pattern of “Science and Humanity, University Flexible”, actively participating in innovative designs, inventions and topic research.
The students’achievements could not be accomplished without strong support of the college, Teaching Affairs Department and relevant colleges. The team’s ladder construction can help students to gradually develop from freshman to senior period and make accomplishments in technological innovation. Due to the team brand, the college’s professional teachers are all open to the team, and students from the team are always popular with the professional teachers, who are willing to be their instructors. The college specially opens the student innovation labs all days for them to do experiments and research in spare time.
City Metro Transportation College has launched a multi-layer contact and extensive communication with colleges and departments based on the platform of cooperation between school and enterprise, and combined with subject characteristics and enterprises.
