On the morning of September 13, SUES held an opening ceremony for its 2026 MBA, MPA and MEM students on Changning Campus. President Lou Yongqi attended the ceremony. Wang Hong, President of China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) and Chair of the Expert Committee of the Professional Degree Education Center of School of Management Studies, and Zhu Zhenyu, an alumnus of School of Management Studies, Chair of the Board of Supervisors of SUES Alumni Association, and a representative of industry mentors, attended as invited guests. Heads of relevant administrative departments, leaders and faculty representatives from School of Management Studies, and 240 new students gathered at SUES to embark on a new academic journey. The ceremony was presided over by Ye Xinliang, Vice Dean of School of Management Studies.
At the ceremony, Lou Yongqi and Wang Hong jointly unveiled a plaque marking School of Management Studies’ AACSB international business accreditation. Following official approval by Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the School successfully earned AACSB accreditation, making SUES the first university focused on applied innovation in China to receive the accreditation and marking an important step onto the international stage of leading business education.
Reflecting on SUES’ development and outlining its vision for the future, Lou Yongqi emphasized the important role of management disciplines in SUES’ 3-wings development pathway. He encouraged the new students to consider three questions: “How can you build your own strengths?” “How should you learn in the age of artificial intelligence?” and “What new contributions will you bring to your industry after graduation?” He encouraged them to stay focused, keep thinking, and make meaningful contributions through their academic journey, while working alongside SUES in its reform and development.
Wang Hong reflected on her decades-long connection with SUES and introduced the progress of collaboration between CEIBS and SUES and its School of Management Studies in three areas: talent development, research, and global engagement. She encouraged the new students to cultivate a strong sense of responsibility to the country, integrate knowledge with practice, and take a long-term perspective. She expressed the hope that they would set their sights further into the future and develop into high-level interdisciplinary management professionals capable of contributing to national strategic priorities.
Fan Junhui, Secretary of the CPC Committee of School of Management Studies; alumnus Zhu Zhenyu; Wu Lei, a representative of graduate supervisors; and Cao Xiaojun, a representative of the 2026 MBA cohort, delivered remarks in turn. Shi Jianyong, former Deputy Secretary of the CPC SUES Committee and Professor at School of Management Studies, passed the MBA/MPA/MEM flag, symbolizing responsibility and mission, to representatives of the new students, carrying forward its spirit and legacy to a new generation.
The new MBA, MPA and MEM students are ready to begin a new chapter at SUES with enthusiasm and determination.
