On December 28, a delegation led by Silvia Barbero, Vice Rector for Communication and Promotion at Politecnico di Torino (Italy), visited SUES. President Lou Yongqi met with the guests at the SUES–DIIS Joint Innovation Center, accompanied by Wang Qin, Director of the International Office.

During the meeting, President Lou Yongqi introduced SUES’ strategic vision of building a world-class, application-oriented innovation university with distinctive industrial strengths. He highlighted the university’s “Engineering + Management + Design” 3-wings framework, which drives integrated development across disciplines and supports innovation-oriented talent cultivation. Lou noted that SUES looks forward to strengthening research collaboration with PoliTo, particularly in the field of sustainable development. Building on existing dual-degree programs, he expressed the university’s willingness to further explore new pathways for Sino-foreign cooperative education, expand the international visibility of both institutions, and promote the sharing and global dissemination of high-quality educational resources.
Silvia Barbero thanked SUES for the warm reception. She noted that PoliTo and SUES share strong alignment in disciplinary structure and development philosophy, and expressed her expectation that a long-term cooperation mechanism could be established. Through the exchange of ideas, she said, innovation can be ignited; through complementary strengths, cooperation can be broadened—together opening a new chapter in bilateral collaboration.

During the talks, both sides exchanged views on concrete areas of cooperation, including joint program development, establishment of collaborative research platforms, and faculty and researcher exchanges. A number of consensuses were reached, laying a solid foundation for advancing future collaboration.
