On the morning of June 29th, Commencement & Degree Conferral Ceremony 2024 of SUES was held grandly at the gymnasium of Songjiang Campus. SUES leaders, members of the Degree Evaluation Committee, leaders of all schools, alumni representatives, faculty representatives, and representatives of the 2024 graduates attended the Commencement.
Secretary of the CPC SUES Committee Li Jiang, President Yu Tao, and all the members of the Degree Evaluation Committee turned the tassels and awarded certificates for the graduates, and sent their earnest instructions and expectations to the graduates.
Li Jiang, Secretary of the CPC SUES Committee, expressed his ardent expectations for the graduates, hoping that they would have lofty aspirations and never forget their initial dreams, devote themselves to where the motherland needs them most, and becoming steadfast pillars of the nation.
Yu Tao, SUES President, introduced the outstanding graduates of the 2024 class who emerged in such areas as grassroots services, scientific research, social practice, and volunteer service. He expressed hopes to all graduates: to be outstanding young people of SUES with great national aspirations, grounded in practicality, courageous in overcoming difficulties, and maintaining a positive attitude!
Shi Jianyong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC SUES Committee, announced the list of graduates who were employed at the community level.
The Commencement was hosted by Vice President Zhu Xiaoqing.
Deputy Secretary of the CPC SUES Committee Meng Xing announced the list of graduates who were admitted to doctoral and master’s programs.
Wang Yansong, SUES Vice President, announced the Decision of the Degree Evaluation Committee of Shanghai University of Engineering Science on Conferring Master’s Degrees and Bachelor’s Degrees.
Xia Chunming, SUES Vice President, announced the list of 2024 alumni liaison ambassadors.
Xu Kaiyu, SUES Vice President, announced the list of Shanghai Outstanding Graduates.
SUES Senior leader Men Yanping announced the list of SUES Outstanding Graduates.
Professor Liu Zhigang from School of Urban Railway Transportation delivered a speech on behalf of all the supervisors. He encouraged all the graduates to establish lofty ideals and cultivate a deep sense of patriotism; maintain the passion for striving forth, realize individual values; and adhere to lifelong learning and self-progress.
Zhang Yun, a 2013 graduate from School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, Director and General Manager of Shanghai Boyang New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., shared his own experience striving forth and encouraged his younger schoolmates to pursue progress while ensuring stability, and contribute their wisdom to promoting the construction of a powerful country and the great rejuvenation of the nation.
Li Yifei, a graduate representative from School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, recounted her dream pursuing path of more than 2,500 days and nights in her alma mater covering the four-year undergraduate and the three-year master’s program, and concluded that graduate students must complete their studies with high quality to lay a solid foundation for the development of their future careers.
All the participating graduates had a chorus of the Graduation Song to convey SUES motto spirit of “Diligence, Veritas, Innovation, and Dedication”. They are full of hopes and blessings and filled with great ambitions, setting sail from the beautiful Chengyuan Campus and composing the youth anthem of SUESers.
