Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embaló Visits SUES

On the afternoon of July 12, President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea-Bissau, leading a delegation, visited SUES. The esteemed guests were warmly received by Secretary of the CPC SUES Committee Li Jiang, President of SUES Yu Tao and Vice President of SUES Xia Chunming.

 


Secretary of the CPC SUES Committee Li Jiang extended a heartfelt welcome to President Umaro Sissoco Embaló on behalf of SUES and presented him with a commemorative ceramic gift inscribed with SUES’ motto. China and Guinea-Bissau share a unique and friendly history. In recent years, the relationship between the two countries has deepened continuously. On July 10, the leaders of both countries agreed to elevate the relationship to a strategic partnership.

 


President Yu Tao provided an overview of Songjiang University Town and SUES, including the history, distinctive characteristics, talent cultivation, and international exchanges, etc. President Umaro Sissoco Embaló and his delegation visited the observation hall on the 19th floor of the administrative building, where they had a bird’s-eye view of Songjiang. They gained a comprehensive understanding of the layout of universities in Songjiang University Town, as well as the overall situation of local universities and enterprise collaborations. The delegation also visited School of Air Transportation (School of Flying) at SUES, exploring the cabin crew emergency training hall and the flight simulator training center. President Umaro Sissoco Embaló piloted a Boeing 737-800 simulator, and President Yu Tao awarded him an “Honorary Captain” certificate.
