On September 24, the 24th China International Industry Fair,with the theme of “New Industrialization, Advanced Productivity”, opened at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). 15 scientific and technological innovation achievements of SUES made an outstanding appearance in the exhibition section for universities.
SUES’ exhibits showcased at the Fair cover multiple cutting-edge technology fields such as biomedicine, digital intelligence, green environmental protection, new energy, and new materials. The diversity of SUES’ exhibits fully demonstrated the University’s outstanding strength and fruitful results in scientific research and innovation. Professor Yuan Chunping presented a project targeting at the development of a High-end Intelligent Equipment for Pharmaceutical Preparations, while another SUES faculty Liu Xinrong brought forth the project of developing Intelligent Robots for Repairing Surface Defects of Wind Turbine Blades in High-Altitude Operations. Many investment institutions on site expressed their intentions to cooperate.
President Yu Tao, Vice Presidents Wang Yansong, Xia Chunming, and Xu Kaiyu, and Lu Zhen, Director of the Shanghai University Science and Technology Development Center, visited the University’s booth and provided instructive suggestions. President Yu Tao spoke highly of the University’s projects on display and raised higher expectations for the transformation of SUES’ scientific research achievements into practical productive forces. He encouraged young teachers and students to actively participate in innovation and entrepreneurship activities. He emphasized that the transformation of scientific research achievements is of great significance for promoting economic development and social progress. SUES should further strengthen cooperation with enterprises, promote in-depth integration of industry, education and research, and make greater contributions to the development of the country and the city.
In recent years, Shanghai University of Engineering Science has focused on the needs of the city of Shanghai and the industry. Based in Shanghai, radiating the Yangtze River Delta, it has seized the historical opportunities of high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and the construction of the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor. It has continuously expanded channels for the transformation of achievements and built bridges for technology transfer in such places as Kunshan, Yangzhou, Qidong of Jiangsu Province, Wuyi of Zhejiang Province, Wuhu and Xuancheng of Anhui Province. Moreover, the University has increased both the scope and scale of technology transfer and achievement transformation, with its Scientific Research Department (Technology Transfer Center) and the National University Science and Technology Park working in conjunction to display exhibition boards and conduct policy publicity in the Park, stimulating the innovation and entrepreneurship vitality of scientific research personnel, and jointly promoting the University’s innovative achievements to better serve the society.
