In order to further institutionalize and standardize the implementation of the system of faculty convention and labor union conference and to lead the staff of SUES to join the new journey of “The Fourteenth Five-Year Plan” development, on the afternoon of March 19th, the Faculty Convention and Labor Union Conference of SUES were held in the second conference hall of the library of SUES. The theme is to gather the consensus of SUES’s development, to promote the development of SUES’s transition and to scientifically design the vision of the “The Fourteenth Five-Year Plan” of SUES, to fight for the establishment of a modern top-ranking engineering application-oriented university in China. The representatives of SUES attended the conference, they were 163 official delegates, 17 nonvoting delegates and specially invited representatives. Shi Jianyong, Deputy Secretary of CPC SUES Committee and the Chairman of the Labor Union presided over the conference.
At the opening ceremony, Yu Tao, Deputy Secretary of CPC SUES Committee and President of SUES, delivered the “2020 Work Report of President”. The report reviewed the promising achievements made by the administration of SUES in eight aspects in 2020, such as political capacity building, implementation of epidemic prevention and control, talent training quality, etc. The report clearly proposed five main missions for the administration of SUES in 2021 as well, they are “to achieve a new stage of high-quality development of SUES from a higher position”, “to implement the fundamental task of cultivating students with higher quality”, “to enhance the capacity of scientific research and social services”, “to continuously improve the efficiency of school operation with more practical measures” and “to improve the relationship between students and teachers”, these 5 tasks will lay a solid foundation for a good start of the “The Fourteenth Five-Year Plan”.
Vice President Wang Yansong delivered a report on “Outline of the Fourteenth Five-Year Plan Development of SUES (Draft)”. He pointed out that the Fourteenth Five-Year Plan is a new blueprint jointly drawn by the University through collective efforts and scientific analysis of the staff, which shows a bright vision for the development of SUES in the next five years. He hoped that all the delegates would pull together, carefully consider the proposals and share constructive opinions or suggestions, so that all the delegates could make contributions to the Fourteenth Five-Year Plan.
At the opening ceremony, Mao Lei, Director of Finance Division, Liu Rurong, Executive Vice Chairman of Labor Union, Liu Fuyao, Director of Party Committee Teachers’ Work Department, Director of Human Resources Exchange Center, Director of Talent Office, and Li Xia, Vice Chairman of SUES Labor Union, made the Reports intitled “Implementation of 2020 SUES Financial Budget and Preparation of 2021 SUES Financial Budget”, “Work of Labor Union in 2020”, “SUES Management Measures for the Employment and Tenure Evaluation of Faculty (Revised Draft)” and “SUES Implementation Measures of the Faculty Convention (Revised Draft)”. At the same time, the delegates considered the Report on the Review of Labor Union Funds in 2020.
Delegates at the conference listened to “Preparation report of SUES’s Faculty Convention and Labor Union Conference”, “Proposal work report of SUES’s Faculty Convention, Collection of Proposals of SUES’s Faculty Convention, Reports of 2020 completion of SUES’s practical projects and Collection of 2021 SUES’s practical projects”. In the Conference, delegates conducted a satisfaction assessment of the completion of the 2020 practical projects. At the same time, the Conference commended 9 excellent proposals, such as Report about The Integration of Information Systems offered by the teacher named Ma Qihua from School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering and Report about Allowances in Songjiang District suggested by Peng Wenhao from Industry Office, these proposals won the first, the second and the third prizes of the Faculty Convention.
After the opening ceremony, delegations were divided into groups to discuss and consider the reports of the Faculty Convention and Labor Union Conference, tried to give advice and suggestions for the “The Fourteenth Five-Year Plan” of SUES.
