Vehicle Engineering discipline Accepting ASIIN Online Accreditation Review

On March 17-19, the program of Vehicle Engineering (Urban Rail Transit Vehicle) accepted the online accreditation review of ASIIN. Four experts of ASIIN review team, Xia Chunming, vice president of SUES, heads of relevant functional departments such as the international office, the academic affairs office, the personnel office, the finance office and the students’ affairs office, and leaders of the School of Urban Railway Transportation and related professors attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Chen Hao, director of academic affairs office.

At the meeting, Vice President Xia Chunming extended a warm welcome to the experts on behalf of SUES, and introduced SUES from the aspects of teaching and scientific research, international cooperation and teaching quality assurance. He stressed that SUES would try its best to complete the accreditation review of ASIIN, accept the valuable opinions and suggestions put forward by the experts, and guide the school to further improve the quality of education and teaching and academic disciplines.

The review team asked questions about the development plan of the program in the next five years, school-enterprise cooperation, professional international education, and the solution mechanism of students' demands, and the leaders of relevant functional departments of SUES made corresponding responses.

Günther BENSTETTER, professor of Degendorf Institute of Technology, is the chairman of the team, Henning AHLERS, professor of Hanover Universities of Applied Sciences and Art, Volkmar TANNEBERGER, executive director of electronic product development department of Volkswagen, and Yongguan WANG, a student majoring in engineering and economics from Saarland University of Applied Sciences, are members of the review team.

The experts will carry out accreditation review in the next two days. They will evaluate self-assessment reports from the program leaders, hold symposiums among teachers, enterprise representatives, graduates and students, and review examination papers and related documents.

Vehicle engineering is the first major to receive international accreditation and the preparation started in 2019.The accreditation review has been strongly supported and actively cooperated by relevant functional departments and colleges of SUES, which will laid a solid foundation for the future international accreditation review.
