The Editor’s note: SUES and Florida Institute of Technology discussed matters concerning international cooperation and exchanges between the two universities. The two sides look forward to developing sincere, friendly and pragmatic cooperation in the field of engineering, actively promoting teacher-student exchanges and international cooperation between industry and universities so as to achieve common progress and common development between both parties.

On March 5th, Vice President of Florida Institute of Technology & Prof. Pei-feng Hsu visited SUES. Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of SUES Xia Jianguo and Vice President Wang received guests in Conference Room 208 of the administrative Building. The two sides held a discussion about further international exchanges and specific cooperation matters. Directors and deans of relevant departments and Schools attended the talk.

Deputy Secretary and President of SUES Xia Jianguo extended a warm welcome to Vice President of Florida Institute of Technology & Professor Pei-feng Hsu and his party. He introduced the school-running philosophy, development strategy, academic characteristics and other matters of SUES. He said that Florida Institute of Technology and the SUES have many similarities in the school-running concept and the disciplines. The two universities can conduct sincere, friendly and practical cooperation in teacher exchanges and scientific research, student exchanges, and international university-industry affairs. He hopes to upgrade the cooperation between the two universities into a comprehensive strategic cooperation so that cooperation will benefit teachers and students of the two universities and promote the common progress and common development of the two universities.

Vice President of Florida Institute of Technology & Prof. Pei-feng Hsu expressed sincere gratitude to our hospitality and highly appraised our university’s beautiful campus, school-running characteristics and achievements. He said that the cooperation between the two universities in engineering education has broad prospects. He hopes that the exchanges and cooperation between teachers can promote teachers and students’ exchanges, industrial project cooperation and other cooperative matters.
