YU TAO

YU Tao, male, ethnic Han Chinese, was born in Xiaoshan, Zhejiang Province, in December, 1968. CPC member, doctor of engineering, researcher and doctoral supervisor. Currently serves as the deputy secretary of the Party committee, the president of Shanghai University of Engineering Science, a representative of the 15th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, a member of the 6th Shanghai Arbitration Commission and International Federation for Information Processing. 


He used to serve as deputy director of Shanghai Key Laboratory of Mechanical Automation and Robotics, director of scientific research department, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai University, vice chairman of Shanghai Association for Science and Technology, president of shanghai Polytechnic University, 11th and 12th member of Shanghai CPPCC, and deputy director of the Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sports Committee.


His main research interests are mechatronics technology and computer integrated manufacturing system (CIMS). He has completed more than 20 scientific research projects commissioned by enterprises, Shanghai Municipality and the state. He has published more than 100 academic papers, of which more than 30 have been indexed by SCI and EI, and won two national invention patents, multiple utility model patents and three software copyrights. He has won the title of Model Worker in CIMS of National 863 Program, and won several Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Awards.
