Xia Chunming, male, ethnic Han Chinese, was born in March 1969, with his ancestral hometown in Shanghai, CPC member, doctor, professor, and doctoral supervisor. He joined the Communist Party of China in June 1991, currently serves as Vice President of Shanghai University of Engineering Science.
He got his bachelor's degree from East China Institute of Chemical Technology, Department of Automatic Control and Electronic Engineering in 1991, got master’s degree from East China University of Science and Technology, Department of Automatic Control and Electronic Engineering in 1994, and graduated from University of Glasgow, UK with a doctorate degree in mechanical engineering in 2003.
he began his career in 1994, engaging in teaching, research, and management work. He held several positions, including Deputy Dean of the School of Mechanical and Power Engineering, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office, Deputy Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Center, and Director of the Information Office at East China University of Science and Technology. Additionally, he serves as Executive Director of the Seventh Council of the China Association of Higher Education, Executive Director of the Engineering Education Professional Committee of the China Association of Higher Education, Expert in Engineering Education Accreditation in China, and member of the Expert Group for the Ministry of Education's Industry-University Cooperative Education Project.
He has received several awards, including the Baosteel Outstanding Teacher Award, the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Science and Technology Education Award (Innovation Award), and the First Prize for Teaching Achievements in Shanghai (one in 2013 and one in 2017). He has undertaken various projects, including those funded by the Ministry of Education's Research Fund for Returned Overseas Scholars, sub-projects of the National Science and Technology Support Program, and projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as multiple enterprise cooperation projects. He has published over 120 academic papers, with 19 indexed by SCI, 42 by EI, and holds six authorized national invention patents.
