On October 26, the 2019 International Academic Forum on Advanced Materials and Intelligent Manufacturing was held at SUES. The forum was organized by Shanghai University of Engineering Science and hosted by School of Materials Science and Engineering. Experts and scholars from France, the United States, Iran, Japan, Egypt, Pakistan, and China gathered to engage in vibrant discussions and exchanges on key topics in the fields of advanced materials and intelligent manufacturing.
Professor Li Jiang, Secretary of the CPC SUES Committee, delivered the welcoming address on behalf of SUES. Professor Li expressed the hope that the forum would serve as a platform to further promote exchanges and collaborations between SUES and domestic and international higher education institutions and research organizations in the areas of advanced materials and intelligent manufacturing. He emphasized the importance of providing theoretical guidance and intellectual support for the development of related disciplines at SUES.
The forum focused on several cutting-edge topics in advanced materials and intelligent manufacturing, including nanomaterials, high-entropy alloys, advanced laser processing, and innovative welding techniques. It provided an effective platform for academic exchange and collaboration between international experts and the faculty and graduate students of School of Materials Science and Engineering. Keynote speakers included Professor Jinbo Bai from the French National Center for Scientific Research, Professor Min Lu from Shanghai University of Engineering Science, Professor Fatemeh Zabihi from Dong Hua University, and Associate Professor Kaveh Edalati from Kyushu University’s International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research. The experts delivered captivating presentations on topics such as nanocomposite materials, high-temperature alloys, flexible thin-film devices, and advanced energy materials, eliciting enthusiastic responses from the audience.
In the afternoon, two parallel sub-forums were held, where 14 presenters and attendees from Egypt, Pakistan, and China conducted in-depth and dynamic discussions on the themes of advanced materials and intelligent manufacturing.
