On October 16th and 17th, The 3rd International Academic Forum on Advanced Materials and Intelligent Manufacturing (AMIM2021) was held on Songjiang Campus of SUES, relying on the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission's Young Talent Recruit Project, hosted by SUSE.
During the two-day conference, experts and scholars from 10 countries, including Russia, UK, Korea, Canada, Brazil, Portugal, India, Iran and China had extensive and in-depth exchanges on hot topics in the field of advanced materials and intelligent manufacturing in the form of Virtual Conference via Tencent Meeting.
In the section of keynote speech, 11 experts, including Prof. Prashanth Konda Gokuldoss from Tallinn University of Technology (India), Academician Zhang Jiujun from Shanghai University, Prof. Song Jung-il from Changwon National University (Korea), Prof. Cho Jong-Rae from Korea Maritime University, Prof. Ivan P. Parkin and Prof. Dan J.L. Brett from University College London (UK), etc. delivered wonderful reports on scholarly hot topics, with more than 200 audience attending the online meeting.
On the 17th session, two parallel online sub-forums were held, in which 21 lecturers and participants. They were Prof. Ilya Okulov from Ural Federal University, Russia, Prof. Piter Gargarella from Federal University of SAN Carlos, Brazil, and outstanding graduate students from the School of Materials Engineering of SUES, had conducted in-depth and enthusiastic discussions on the topics of advanced materials and intelligent manufacturing.
The Forum focused on International hotspot issues on advanced materials and intelligent manufacturing, such as smart materials, energy materials, additive manufacturing, intelligent welding and others. The Forum built an effective platform for scholarly exchange and cooperation between domestic and foreign experts and scholars, and also provided a channel for the young scholars from home and abroad who are interested to know more about SUES. During the conference, more than 300 core teachers, young teachers, postgraduates and undergraduates from the School of Materials Engineering of SUES participated in the online international meeting.
