Editor's Notes: Discipline of Design of SUES has surged to the 54th place in the 2021 Shanghai Ranking, which is another significant achievement of SUES in discipline construction, by virtue of its outstanding performance in five aspects: talent cultivation, research projects, award-winning achievements, academic papers and academic talents. The University will continue to further the advantages of discipline characteristics and academic influence, enhance the level of ability to serve economic and social development, and contribute the wisdom and strength of SUES in serving national and regional development.
On October 25, Shanghai Ranking, a professional institution of higher education evaluation, released the 2021 Shanghai Ranking of the Best Disciplines in China, and SUES ranked 54th in the discipline of design, up 20 places year-on-year, ranking among the top 40%, which is another significant achievement of the University in discipline construction.
The design discipline of SUES entered China's best disciplines ranking for the first time in 2018 and ranked 74th in 2020, in the top 43%. Since 2020, the two majors of Industrial Design and Art and Technology, have been selected as first-class undergraduate construction majors in Shanghai. In the 2021 University Majors Ranking of China, it was awarded one A class major, three B+ class majors and three B class majors, which is in the first square among similar municipal universities in Shanghai, laying a solid foundation for this significant rise in the ranking of Shanghai Ranking disciplines.
