From December 1 to 2, Flight so Real-the 2018 National University Simulation Flight Championship and VR Flight Challenge, organized by the Air Traffic Control Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and Aero Sports Federation of China, was held at the Changping Campus of Beijing Normal University. Although team of SUES participated in the competition for the first time, it won 1 National Third Prize, 1 Outstanding Organization Award and 1 Outstanding Counselor Award for its outstanding performance.
Liu Junjie, a flight cadet of grade 2017, Zhang Xinyu and Xu Shiyang aflight cadets of grade 2016 formed a team, led by teacher Li Yongping of the flight department, and participated in the individual qualifying competition and team competition of the professional flight group ILS approaching and VOR/DME approaching. Eighty-two selected cadets from aviation flight colleges across the country competed fiercely.Although taking part in the competition for the first time, they still did well in some of the events. Finally, Liu Junjie won the sixth place in the professional flight group ILS approach blindly, and won the third prize.SUES team won the Excellent Organization award and Mr. Li Yongping won the Excellent Counselor Award.
The National University Simulation Flight Championship & VR Flight Challenge is the highest-level national competition for college students sponsored the Air Traffic Control Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and Aero Sports Federation of China.As the only college with major in flight technology in Shanghai, School of Flight of SUES has won a place in the national college flight simulation competition , and improved its professional reputation at the same time. It can also arouse college students' interest in cutting-edge science and technology and their yearning for the flight industry, stimulate their scientific inspiration and innovative thinking, cultivate their team spirit, and enable flight cadets to gain the ability of specialization and professionalism.
