On November 3rd, the Face-to-Face with SUES President forum was successfully held at Zhihong Hall on Songjiang Campus. Lou Yongqi, President of SUES, Xu Yang, Vice President, Gong Xiangwei, President of Aptar Group Asia Pacific, and Song Yuchen, Founder of S-Chuang China, attended the forum. Directors of relevant SUES departments as well as more than 500 faculty and student representatives participated. The forum was hosted by Zhang Peiwen, a student from School of Management.

First, Lou Yongqi delivered a report on SUES development. President Lou elaborated on SUES' orientation, strategic route, development model and implementation path in the new era, depicting the blueprint of a world-class application-innovation-university with distinct industrial characteristics. He also introduced the strategic initiative of the 3-wings model that promotes the in-depth integration of engineering + management + design. Teachers and students expressed full confidence and expectations for SUES' future development.

Lou Yongqi invited Gong Xiangwei and Song Yuchen as guest participants to exchange ideas around topics such as career planning, skill building, scenario-based practice and personal value realization. Regarding career planning, the guests proposed breaking away from the self-consuming competition mindset and adopting a global perspective. They encouraged proactive engagement in future scenarios, transforming learned knowledge and skills into marketable products to build a more competitive career development path. Regarding skill building, the guests suggested that while delving into the majors, individuals should be good at asking questions and discovering opportunities, look for connections between technology and industrial needs, enhance core competitiveness, and calmly respond to future social challenges. On scenario-based practice, the guests advocated that university students should keenly observe others and daily life, regard the city as a large-scale practice field, and accumulate social cognition in daily life. Concerning personal value, the guests encouraged students to uphold their uniqueness, and on the basis of clarifying personal interests and characteristics, realize the natural manifestation of their own value. Combining their personal experiences in innovation and entrepreneurship as well as professional fields, the guests provided valuable suggestions, which was met with thunderous applause.

Xu Yang concluded that this forum was not only a vivid manifestation of teacher-student communication but also a fruitful collision of ideas.

In the future, SUES will continue to improve the communication mechanism, further gather the wisdom and strength of the youth, and make efforts to build a world-class application-innovation-university with distinct industrial characteristics.
