The 2nd Shanghai University Teaching Innovation Competition, organized by the Shanghai Education Commission and hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, came to an end recently, with the SUES team winning three first prizes and an excellent organization award.
The course “Mechanical Design” delivered by Professor Jin Xiaoyi from School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, the course Expression Techniques given by Associate Professor Luo Man from School of Art and Design and the course Electronic Technology given by Lecturer He Zhimin from Engineering Training Centre won the first prize in their respective groups.
With the theme of Promoting Teaching Innovation and Cultivating First-class Talents, the competition aims to further promote the teaching reform of higher education, give full play to the demonstration and leading role of the competition, and carefully create a platform for teachers in Shanghai universities to showcase and exchange ideas, attracting more than 1,000 teachers to sign up for the competition, involving 105 courses from 37 universities.
With the support of SUES leadership, the Academic Affairs Office (Teacher Teaching Development Centre), School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, School of Art and Design and the Engineering Practical Training Centre, and after months of careful preparation, all three SUES teachers finally achieved excellent results in the competition.
In recent years, SUES has always insisted on using teaching competitions and training as a grip to continuously strengthen the foundation of talent cultivation, comprehensively promote the construction of first-class undergraduate courses, allowing teachers to develop fresh ideas for course design, encourage course innovation and reform, utilize the strength of group and teamwork, strengthen the growth of the teaching community, and continuously advance the connotative and high-quality development of undergraduate education in the university.
