From March 23 to 24, Professor Rick Shangraw from Arizona State University visited SUES and attended a seminar on internationalization of education hosted by SUES. President Yu Tao and Vice President Xia Chunming received the visitors on behalf of SUES.
President Yu Tao and Vice President Xia Chunming extended a warm welcome to Professor Rick Shangraw and his delegation, and gave a brief introduction of the current situation and future blueprints of SUES. Professor Rick Shangraw indicated that they were deeply impressed by the unique characteristics and great achievements of SUES and hoped that the two sides could carry out more in-depth cooperation in the field of education.
President Yu Tao awarded Professor Rick Shangraw the appointment letter of Adjunct Professor, hoping that he can become a bridge of educational cooperation between the two universities. With the professor’s help, SUES’s international perspective can be expanded, more international educational resources can be obtained, and more positive contributions can be made to the development of students and the society as a whole.
During the visit, Professor Rick Shangraw and his delegation attended the symposium on the internationalization of education hosted by SUES, they gave a lecture titled “Designing Ideas of Universities in the 21st Century” and delivered a special report titled “Connecting the Industry, the University and the City” for SUES’s faculty and students. Based on his rich educational experience and profound thinking on university development and the cooperation of industry, university and research, the professor shared his unique insights, which aroused wide resonance among teachers and students.
During the visit, Professor Rick Shangraw and his delegation also paid a visit to relevant laboratories on campus and gained an in-depth understanding of the teaching and scientific research of SUES.
This visit not only promoted the educational exchanges between the two universities, but also brought forth valuable learning and thinking opportunities for teachers and students of SUES. We believe that with the joint efforts of both sides, the cooperation between the two universities will further be strengthened, and greater contributions will be made to the development and innovation of education.
