Features: This Major is a pilot training program approved by the Ministry of Education under the “Excellent Engineer Education & Training Program.
Guided by social development and social needs and on the background of advanced manufacturing and new materials, this Major is characterized by paint engineering and aims to train outstanding engineers; “3+1” school-enterprise joint training mode, namely: 3 years’ study in SUES, accumulatively 1 year’s engineering practice and graduation design in enterprises. Teachers emphatically instruct students to have a grasp of the expertise in high polymer materials, especially in the design, synthesis, modification and painting of new coatings; students are expected to be trained into high-quality application-oriented engineering and technical talents who have the development and application ability in new products, new technologies and new processes; have engineering practice abilities; can engage in scientific research, technology development, process design, production and management work in the field of high polymer materials (especially Paint).

Employment Orientation: graduates have a wide range of employment options; they can work various fields of polymer materials, especially take on polymer synthesis and processing, product development and engineering design, production and management, inspection and quality supervision at paint-related enterprises, research institutes, design institutes and public institutions.
