On April, 11, president Ding Xiaodong, Pei Xiaoqian, deputy secretary of SUES party committee, and vice president Shi Jianyong listened to the “Report on Informatization of Smart campus”
At the meeting, Li Rongzheng, chief of informatization office, delivered a lively presentation and a detailed report on the progress of informatization and the plans to the university heads in accordance with the orientation towards the strategic planning of “Six-year action plan of informatization of smart campus” and the key administrative tasks on this year’s list.
The main contents of the report included: the newly revised university homepage and Tengfei News Net, mobile campus platform, assessment system of teaching team and faculty attendance check system,
multi-nodal affairs review and approval functions in online affairs hall, campus data sharing platform, student and teacher information gateways, homepage of individual teachers, construction of campus wireless network, and key computer room construction proposal, etc.. Li Zhengrong mentioned that this meeting enabled the office to achieve a prompt communication with university leadership and relevant departments, receive supervision and inspection of superiors and round up valuable ideas and suggestions, all of which would help the office to truly integrate informatization into the teaching, management, study and life of all the faculty members and students.
President Ding Xiaodong extolled the recent achievements made by the informatization office and pointed out that consistent efforts should be made to enhance the technical means of informatization, build smart and energy-efficient campus so as to improve administration, relieve faculty labor and further elevate the teaching and research capability of the university. The university leader hoped that this meeting can play a role in supervising informatization office and the relevant departments can make joint efforts to make a great success of university informatization by focusing on students’ interests and concentrating on their study and life so as to build an advanced mobile campus platform and moreover promote its application within the whole campus. The university president also hoped that Informatization Office and Publicity Department can jointly come up with a revised version of university home page and Tengfei News Net so as to better publicize the university. He also pointed out that informatization office should, based on demand and the perspectives of the viewers, design the online affairs hall in a humanistic manner by learning from the prevailing display mode. Ding Xiaodong hoped that relevant administrative and party departments and organizations should improve their service-oriented work according to the informatization of university work in the online affairs hall.
At the meeting, Pei Xiaoqian, deputy secretary of party committee, offered many constructive suggestions on the display mode of newly revised campus home page pictures, the overall feel of the homepage, and homepages of the individual teachers. Vice president Shi Jianyong put forward higher requirements to informatization office for color use, the interactivity and application of mobile campus platform. In the meantime, Ye Feng, chief of SUES president office, Wang Chen, chief of party office, Wang Yichuan, chief of publicity department, and Mao Huawei, deputy party secretary in the administrative department also offered many valuable ideas and suggestions. Moreover, an in-depth discussion was held on the problems encountered in OA system, location of question-answering faculty attendance check, putting into operation of campus cards on Xian Xia Campus.
Through this meeting, informatization office staff benefit enormously from the instructions of university leaders and relevant people in charge, and therefore formed a more specific overall plan and construction goal, thus paving the way for improving university informatization and service quality and also clarifying ideas on building a service-oriented administrative department.
