Six Works from Our University were shortlisted in the National Artwork Exhibition, ranking first among Shanghai Universities

The works of 6 teachers from Art and DesignSchool of our University were shortlisted in the 12th National Artwork Exhibition, setting a record since our University participated into the contest. Days ago Teachers Zhang Jie, Ping Long, Wang Xingkai, Qian Yongning, Yao Hui and Wang Ziqiang were invited to attend the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

National Artwork Exhibition, referred to as the National Art Exhibition, is an largest art exhibition in China with the highest specifications and the largest scale. The exhibition is held once every five years. The organizers are the Ministry of Culture of the PRC, China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Chinese Artists Association.

For this contest, the School of Art and Design repeatedly made extensive mobilization; in the past three years of creation and production, the students and teachers have constantly integrated the advanced creative ideas into the manufacturing technology. The selected works were assessed for many rounds before they were sent for initial national assessment, then they were re-selected. Zhang Jie, Ping Long’s works were re-selected and shortlisted in the watercolor, pastel paintings; of the industrial design works, 5 works from Shanghai universities are re-selected and 3 works come from our University, ranking first among Shanghai universities.
