The amphibious robot that can clean up the river junk, the new biodegradable materials that can reduce the degradation time, the small automobile that can solve the curve wear problems of subways and high-speed rails, a green smart device that can control home furnishing by one key…… , all these are the products selected by Shanghai University of Engineering Science to exhibit in this CIIF. Manufactured by our university, highly technical and practical, such products are directed to solve the practical problems in the related industrial fields and daily life.

Over the past years SUES has always attached great importance to participation in CIIF, and numerous exhibits have won awards on the platform of the Industry Fair, which greatly promotes the transformation of the scientific achievements into the industrial production. This year, before the 16th China International Industry Fair 2014, our university actively organized teachers to prepare for this fair nearly six months in advance. Moreover, our university delicately organized and deployed the preparatory work, and carefully selected exhibits. During the period of project/product collection, each school, department and center of our university positively recommended their projects/products.Then the Research Department organized experts to select the products and eventually determined 14 projects as our university's exhibits.

The projects exhibited in the Fair include: the amphibious equipment that is used to clean up river junks and protect ecological environment; the sensing element that can be used to press the corresponding graphene base; the controllable biodegradable composite materials and medical products; the smart home series that can be used for safety protection, information sharing and environment detection; the new detecting and processing technology used for machinery, track, high-strength laser, etc. The exhibited projects cover such disciplinary fields as nano-composite materials, bio-medicine, information science, mechatronics and engineering. Besides, the exhibited projects not only derive from the academic achievements made the scientific research team under the leadership of professors, but also from the achievements made by university students during the innovative activities and the technical incubation achievements made in the Technology Park. With our university striving to create an organized, high-level, sustainable research environment, such achievements are strikingly featured by the diversity, delicate organization, large scale interdisciplinary penetration of our university’s research work.

Furthermore, the university pays special attention to layout of the exhibition booths. By making repeated optimized design, our university rationally laid out all exhibited machines and graphic/video materials. In a word, the exhibition projects fully evince the strength and leapfrog development of our university in research and discipline construction, and highlight the collaborative innovation of the “Three-Cooperative Education Mode” implemented by our university.
