On the afternoon of May 26th, the 2023 graduation design exhibition of International Institute of Creative Design(IICD) grandly opened on the 19th floor of the Administration Building on Songjiang Campus. President Yu Tao and Vice President Wang Yansong attended the opening ceremony. The faculty and students of IICD, heads of relevant functional offices and schools, representatives of industry-university cooperation units such as Shanghai Manheng Digital Technology Co., Ltd. attended the ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Xu Rongrong, Vice Dean of IICD.
In his speech, President Yu Tao congratulated the teachers and students who participated in this graduation design exhibition, praised IICD as one of the outstanding embodiments of SUES's three major strategies, and hoped that the institute and its graduates would stick to the following in their future: pursue both professional excellence and moral integrity, pursue the integration of art and technology, conduct useful design, and memorize the cultivation given by SUES.
At the opening ceremony, a video of the speech recorded by Jang Je-kook, President of Dongseo University, South Korea, was played, and he sent a message to graduates. He asked the graduates not to be afraid of failure, and to become the people who constantly challenge and overcome failure after entering the society. Also, he hoped that the graduates from IICD will become leaders in Sino-foreign cooperation and exchange institutes in the field of creative design.
Vice President Wang Yansong presented certificates and trophies to the winners, and announced the 2023 Graduation Design Exhibition of International Institute of Creative Design of Shanghai University of Engineering Science officially opened.
Gu Yi, Dean of IICD, and Kim Chong-ki, Dean from the Korean side, delivered messages to the graduates. They hoped that students will uphold the spirit of national innovation and make full use of the knowledge they have learned to shine after entering into the society.
This exhibition focused on the performance of virtual technology in the practice of actual functions, using technology to transcend the limitations of embodiment and time to obtain new perceptions and experiences of history and cities. In the production and audiovisual experience dominated by virtual technology, the present is linked by capturing the remains of history.
