The future automobile may be like this: on a rainy day, the windshield wiper will be “laid off”, and the sensor inside the automobile can blow rain drops down. The research of Liang Wei, a teacher from School of Automotive Engineering was greatly recognized by experts due to this innovative achievement, and she was awarded the honorary title of “Young Oriental Scholar of Shanghai College 2015”.
Liang has just turned 30 years old this year. She has been engaging in the research of automotive sensors, biochemical sensors and industrial sensors monitoring. With a solid theoretical foundation and rich practical experience, she has made in-depth research in the fields of surface acoustic wave technology, fluid control, solid particle control and sensor research and development, etc. In the latest seven years, she has been to Germany twice for doctoral study and scientific research. During her Germany days, she cooperated and communicated with experts from Germany, the United States, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Japan and Russia, and participated into and completed 4 projects at or above national level (such as “EU Regional Development Fund project”, “Bayern future innovation projects”) and 6 German company and/or overseas projects (such as “inside balanced armature button”, “windshield wiper replacement trigger”, “Ultrasonic Measurement and Control dialysis pipeline”, “even and non-contact distribution of automobile parts lubricating fluid”, “ultrasonic transmission in liquid”, “surface acoustic wave touch screen”), all of which have brought considerable economic benefits. In the past two years, she has published six papers in “Journal of Applied Physics” and other overseas academic journals; in addition, a German press, “Shaker Verlag Press” has published her monograph. She ever won Germany DAAD scholarship, the special performance bonus award Coburg University of Applied Sciences, etc. To this day, she still act as part-time professor of Germany Coburg University of Applied Technology in the Sino-German exchange programs.
As a pretty and intelligent girl, Liang Wei would like to enrich her daily life. She would play accordion in her spare time and practices calligraphy when her mind is peaceful and quiet. In students’ eyes, she is a mentor and would always spare her time to communicate with students no matter how busy she is.
Liang Wei remarks that SUES has provided a platform for her performance and the title of “young oriental scholar” would inspire her to pursue her dream forward from a new starting point.
