Shanghai Municipal Education Commission audited and approved Shanghai University of Engineering Science in 2003 to launch the program of Sino-American Mechanical Design and Manufacture and Automation Cooperative Bachelor Degree with Lawrence Technological University. The major of Mechanical Design and Manufacture and Automation （Automotive Engineering）of School of Automotive Engineering was founded in 1986. The cooperative program is organized by four academic years. The qualified graduates will receive the graduation certificate and bachelor degree certificate from Shanghai University of Engineering Science.
