Associate Professor Xin Binjie Won the Fifth China Overseas Chinese Contribution Award

 The Fifth Session of the New Overseas Chinese Innovation Achievement Exchange Commendation held by All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese has taken place in Beijing recently. Associate Professor Xin Binjie from Department of Textile Engineering, School of Fashion Design of SUES won Overseas Chinese Contribution Award (Innovative Talent Award) in the commendation.

The Fifth Session of the New Overseas Chinese Innovation Achievement Exchange Commendation has granted 363 Overseas Chinese Contribution Awards, including 187 “Innovative Talent Awards”, 101 “Innovation Achievement Awards” and 75 “Innovative Team Awards”. Among the 187 Innovative Talent Award winnersmany of them are part of The Recruitment Program of Global Experts—Thousand Talents Program and Hundred Talents ProgramMinistry of Education Yangtze River scholar professorsor experts enjoying the special allowance of the State Council. Moreover, many of the Innovative Talent Award winners have been awarded national or provincial prizes, have taken national key scientific research projects such as 863 Project and 973 Project or have been supported by the National Natural Science Fund.

Associate Professor Xin Binjie is an overseas returnee with more than 10 years of study and working experience abroad. He was included in Quality Migrant Admission Scheme of Hongkong in 2007; Shanghai Pujiang Program in 2010; General Program of CSC visiting scholars project in 2013. While he worked in Hong Kong Polytechnic Universityhe participated in a batch of important projects, such as the development of  Fabric Structure Analysis and Appearance Evaluation System, Portable Rapid Detection Sensor for Residual Formal dehyde in Textiles and High Performance Advanced Textile Materials. After he came back to China mainland, he hosted many projects, including General Program of National Natural Science Fund Project, Shanghai Pujiang Program, Scientific Research Innovation Program of Shanghai Municipal Education CommissionShanghai Outstanding Young Teachers Program and the Connotation Construction Program of the 12th Five Year Plan in Shanghai’s Local Colleges and Universities.

China overseas Chinese Contribution Award was established by All-China Federation of overseas returnees in 2003. With the joined efforts of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Chinese Academy of Sciences and China Association for Science and Technology, the Award is presented in every 2 years. Facing the various tertiary institutions, scientific research institutions, overseas Chinese enterprises, Overseas Students Pioneer Parks and Rejuvenating the country through science and education demonstration base of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese across the country, the Award (including Innovative Talent Award, Innovation Achievement Award and Innovative Team Award) aims to honor the returned overseas Scientific and technical personnel who achieved major innovations and outstanding contributions in terms of Scientific research and development and commercialization of research findings.
