In the ninth round of matches, our university team beat Tongji University 7-1 with a comprehensive victory.

This is the first time our university has held this Game after our team won the championship in Chinese College Students Five-man Football League (Shanghai Division) in 2013. In the course of game organization, the staffs of Physical Education Department, the President’s Office, Security Guard Department, Asset Department and related departments/divisions have provided great supports and done hard work.

In order to achieve a good result in the game, twenty sportsmen from our university’s high level football team received intensified training for more than 40 days during the hot summer days under the guidance of Group Leader Professor Xie Min and Coach Xue Zhiqiang. Under the scorching sun, they sweated over practicing the football skills and developing special tactics for the five-man football match. Even though the training venues were scarce during November and December, the two coaches made great efforts to seek training venues. They even led the team to conduct match exchanges twice so as to make a good preparation for the combat exercises. After a long-term training and running-in, the team developed a consistent tactical style and a good ethos of unity and mutual aid; the student athletes also formed a solid friendship among themselves. They became a high-level football team with the spirit of “unity, hard work and progressiveness” and evinced an extraordinary strength and fighting spirit during the matches.
